Unity of the Spirit begins in the heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above everything else, guard your heart; for it is the source of life’s consequences. [Mishlei (Pro) 4:23 CJB]
What we sow in our hearts will overflow in every area of our life. Fear will cause someone to make wrong decisions. Doubt will cause someone to not trust God. The results can be disasters. Doubting God hinders our walk with God, our prayer life, our love for self and others.
In the Word of God, the book of Jeremiah, chapter 17, Judah's sin and punishment is referenced saying, “The heart is more deceitful than anything else and mortally sick. Who can fathom it? I, Adonai, search the heart; I test inner motivations; in order to give to everyone what his actions and conduct deserve.” [Yirmeyahu (Jer) 17:9-10 CJB] "The heart of the people, the center of their spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being was inextricably entangled in stubborn rebellion against God." This happens if we reject Jesus (The Word of God) for we truly can only know the Father through His Son.

If we believe the Word of God to be true than we need to ask ourselves, "How do I guard my heart?
Remember our focus is Unity of the Spirit, we are one in Christ Jesus. So let us reason together , helping one another to be victorious in guarding our heart as we complete our journey.
Share with us how you guard "YOUR" heart. What are some of the ways or things you do to ensure that your heart is guarded from fear, doubt, unforgiveness, bitterness etc. in your daily life.
To get this discussion started, I will start by sharing a prayer which is one strategy I use to guard my heart. Please feel free to say this prayer with me.
Heavenly Father, may the eyes of my heart, the very center and core of my being be enlightened. Flood it with light by the Holy Spirit, so that I will know and cherish the hope, the divine guarantee, and my confident expectation to which You have called me, to the riches of Your glorious inheritance in God's people according to Word in Ephesians 1:18. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
